The principle components of research projects are planning the entire program, developing the questionnaire (quantitative)/interview guide (qualitative), devising tabulation, and producing reports. Each of these phases is implemented by researchers who are servicing the commissioning client, and are knowledgeable in the client’s business sector. Staff Skill Development for Stronger Staff Performance
Staff training is indispensable in maintaining and improving the quality of research output. At TNS-Infoplan, we put entrants through dedicated entry-level programs and more experiences staff through junior and senior-level courses separately. We also regularly implement staff career development programs by function (account services and Fieldwork/EDP operations) in order to upgrade our skill sets, as well as to adhere to legal compliance and industry codes.
Of particular note are two elements. One is our internal initiatives to learn from each other, quite often by challenging each other, in a self-developed program to enhance presentation skills. The other is participation in the TNS University, which is an off-site training program open for TNS employees every six months to provide intensive courses in advanced/innovative analysis as well as business solutions.
In our fieldwork operations as well, we invest every effort in the hiring of top-quality home-visit interviewers, developing interviewer training programs, briefing projects, and controlling every phase of fieldwork. These activities are centralized by our fieldwork supervisors in our Tokyo office.
